About AceTheTKT
AceTheTKT is an independent teacher-training website created and managed by Noel Perera, an English language trainer with more than a decade of ELT experience in TKT and TEFL/TESOL education. The site offers lessons, exam tasks, and teaching resources designed to help trainee and practising English teachers prepare for the Cambridge TKT examination.
The content is written and reviewed to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with TKT curriculum standards. Every lesson, quiz, and study guide is based on classroom experience and ELT methodology.
Transparency and Credibility
AceTheTKT is an educational initiative, not an automated content site or affiliate hub.
All materials are created by a real trainer for real TKTiers with the aid of AI to speed up the process.
The lessons are independently researched, clearly referenced, and regularly updated to reflect changes in TKT curriclulum, and current trends in English language teaching.
The site operates under the same ownership as EnglishWithNoel.com and CELTATrainer.com, ensuring consistent educational quality and author oversight across all platforms.

Noel Narrates: How it all started: 2014 – 2025
The idea came to me in 2014 while I was sitting on a bus, reading through the official Cambridge TKT coursebook. I thought, ‘If I find this challenging, how many others are also struggling on their own? ‘ That moment inspired me to help others preparing for the exam. Later that year, I started the Cambridge TKT blog and created a Facebook group, bringing together a small but enthusiastic community of learners.
In 2015, I took the next step and transformed the Cambridge TKT blog into the TKT Cambridge website. It became a first stop for many teachers looking for easy explanations of lessons for their exam preparation.
Two years later, in 2017, I started the TKT Cambridge Facebook page. It allowed me to reach a much wider audience, connecting with teachers across the globe.
By 2018, that page had grown into the largest online TKT community. Teachers from different countries were now sharing resources, exchanging ideas, and encouraging one another.
In 2019, I launched the TKT Cambridge Online Course portal, offering free courses. For the first time, 4000+ TKTiers had access to structured preparation support.
In 2020, I added mock exams to the portal. This gave learners the chance to test themselves under exam conditions and build confidence before sitting for the real test.
By 2021, I wanted to bring people even closer together, so I started the TKT Cambridge WhatsApp group. It created a space for daily discussion, questions, and peer support.
In 2022, the TKT Cambridge Facebook Group became the largest TKT-focused group in the world. It was humbling to see so many teachers relying on the platform to grow in their profession.
In 2023, I made the difficult decision to close both the TKT Cambridge website and the Facebook page. But this was not the end—it was a chance to refresh, rebrand, and create something better.
In 2024, I launched AceTheTKT with a new website and Facebook page. The new name reflected a clearer mission and a stronger commitment to helping teachers succeed with fresh content, updated lessons, and renewed focus.
In 2025, I officially renamed the TKT Cambridge Facebook group as the ‘AceTheTKT – Teaching Knowledge Test’ Facebook group, bringing everything under one name. Now, the website, the page, and the group all work together to serve one purpose: to help teachers worldwide prepare for TKT and grow in confidence as educators.
What started as a thought on a bus in 2014 has grown into a worldwide community in 2025. I remain committed to keeping resources free, practical, and always focused on the needs of teachers.

I’m Noel Perera, the founder of AceTheTKT.
My journey with TKT began back in 2014 on a bus ride, reading the official Cambridge TKT Coursebook and realizing how many teachers like me needed clearer, friendlier support. What started as a simple blog grew into a website, a Facebook group and page, and online courses that reached thousands of teachers worldwide. Over the years, it grew into one of the largest online communities for TKT, always keeping one goal in mind: to make teacher development accessible, affordable, and encouraging. Today, through AceTheTKT, I continue that mission: helping English teachers everywhere prepare for TKT with confidence and grow in their teaching careers.
